Woods Technology 1
This introductory course offers students the opportunity to learn, via hands-on design projects, the skills and processes associated with various types of woodworking. Students will utilize woodworking tools and techniques to become familiar with woodworking safety, project planning and layout, basic project construction, joinery, manufacturing production, and construction systems. Students will have the opportunity to plan and construct projects commensurate with their interests and abilities.
Woods Technology 2
This advanced level course offers students the opportunity to expand their woodworking skills, via hands-on design projects and guided instruction. Students will be able to hone some of the skills that they have acquired in Woods Tech 1 along with learning some more advanced techniques. Students will utilize woodworking tools and advanced techniques to reinforce woodworking safety, layout and plan projects, construct projects, perform advanced joinery techniques, and mass-produce products. Students will also have the opportunity to be involved in a local construction service project.
